My First Biohacking Implant Experience: DangerousThings NExT RFID + NFC Chip
Hi everyone, I’ve been interested in biohacking topics for many years. I had also been following Dangerous Things for quite a while. My latest research on RFID and NFC, which started with Flipper Zero, led me to the NExT chip that combines both technologies. So, I quickly got the set you see below and began preparing for the procedures.
Dangerous Things describes the NExT chip as follows:
“Maximize hand real estate with the NExT dual frequency chip implant! If you want the benefit of having both a high frequency NFC chip implant and a low frequency RFID chip implant, then the NExT is what you need! The NFC side of the NExT is an NTAG216 chip that works with 13.56MHz NFC capable smartphones, certain ISO14443A commercial access control systems, certain door locks, and USB contactless ISO14443A readers. The low frequency RFID side of the NExT is a 125kHz T5577 emulator chip that can behave like many different common low frequency chip types, including EM41xx, EM4200, HID 1326 ProxCard II, HID 1346 ProxCard III, and Indala access cards and keyfobs. Check out our video explaining how the T5577 works.”

The standard kit I purchased contains the following:
- 1 sterile injector assembly with the chip inside
- 2 single-use antiseptic wipes
- 1 sterile gauze pad
- 1 sterile adhesive bandage
- 1 pair of non-sterile gloves.
I also purchased a Proxmark 3 Easy and an xEM Access Controller. If you’re only going to work with simple cards and you have a Flipper Zero, you might not need them. However, if you want to dive deeper, the Proxmark 3 is quite effective!
As a first step, I began laying out the health kit that came with the package on my desk. Then, before opening any packages, I thoroughly washed my hands with antibacterial soap and disinfected them twice with ethyl alcohol. After that, I took the sterile set out of its packaging and prepared the workspace.
Since I was going to administer the injection myself, I used a sterilized clamp to lift the skin between my thumb and index finger. Then I injected the needle into the triangular area. NOTE: Definitely watch the instruction video. Also, don’t forget to remove the injector safety! By the way, I should mention that the needle is quite intimidating and painful due to its size!
After the injection, I sterilized the area with iodine, dried it with gauze, and cleaned it. Then, I covered it with the high-quality bandage that was included in the kit.
I’ve been taking Amoklavin antibiotic at home for two days now. Everything is going well so far. I’ve already written my first data using RFID!
Here are the specifications of the NExT chip:
- Dimensions: 2.12mm x 14mm
- RFID and NFC: T5577 & NTAG216
I will share more on how to use it with the Proxmark3 in the future.
